Or do you know someone who does?
Or a wesbite link if possible. I'm interested.
There aren't very many houses in Paris. It is mostly apartments that are either rented or owned. There are many agencies that rent apartments in Paris. Google "Paris Vacation Rental" and select one.
Note that many buildings in Paris do not have elevators, so if you rent an apartment on the 5th floor (which is the 6th floor in the US), you could have a lot of stairs to climb. Make sure to read the listing carefully.
Also note that top-floor apartments are not always well-insulated, so it might be very hot in summer and very cold in winter. Apartments on the 1st floor usually have higher ceilings, but you also have a lot of traffic noise. If a building has an elevator, your best bet is an apartment on the 4th floor. If there's no elevator, try for 2nd or 3rd floor.

Mine would be London England, or Paris France
My dream vacation would have to be where it's warm!!! I would love to go to the Caribbean and lounge on the beach gazing at the beautiful ocean! I would have a relaxing massage every day, and imbibe myself with intoxicating laughter and conversation and of course a few nice cool drinks.

I won't need to buy my ticket for a few weeks. I'm only going to be in London for about 4-5 days as part of a vacation. I'm concerned that taking a discount flight with a carrier like Ryanair or Easyjet might waste a lot of time. I'd have to take a train to Beauvais airport from Paris, and then land in a smaller airport outside of London and spend a few hours getting to London. On top of that the time required to check baggage in, etc…
Chunnel. Either take a Eurostar train (quite fast, will bring you almost to the center of London) or travel by car (don't recommend, using Le Shuttle will be longer and relatively more expensive).
BTW, Ryanair use to fly from Orly or CDG about 8 years ago. Not any more?

Checked Numerous sites, read tons and tons of books, now I try here. I am looking for free and cheap things to do in paris to keep me occupied on this vacation. Thanks in advance.
Lucky you. I've spent about a month there over three trips and I still could go back. Use the Metro. It's great feels very Euro and cheap. The Sevres pottery factory on the outskirts as well as Versailles can be visited by Metro. Get the latest Michelin guide. It's all you need. It has walking routes mapped out as well as everything you need to know. With a month it would be easy to take some short train trips for the day. Here's one that I highly recommend. The finest chateau in France, the prototype for Versailles, called Vaux le Vicomte, forty miles south of Paris from Gare Sud, outside of the city of Melun. It's a perfect day trip and there is a shuttle bus from the station. You will not regret it

Will be travel on vacation with children (ages 11 and 10)…what is a good neighborhood that has a neighborhood feel, near main attractions but family friendly/safe?
I suggest you hotel Ascot Opera - rue Monsigny no.2. It's a small one, but very well located, just few minutes walking to the main beauties of Paris. Bon voyage!

I've looked around and it's all so expensive because all hotels make u get 2 rooms. it turns out to be over $300-$600 per night which is very expensive. how do europeans afford to take vacations in paris? is there some trick to make it more affordable as a family?
My favorite hotel, the Hotel St Andre des Arts, has a four person room for 120 euros (about $165 at current exchange rates) which includes breakfast. You can book here: http://www.123france.com/123/en/hotel.php?id_hot=486
This is a charming but basic hotel. No elevators, no television, no minibars, no room service, no pool, and no exercise room. Just clean beds, friendly staff, en suite modern bath and WC, and a perfect, central location in a wonderful lively neighborhood.

I would take no less than $700.
