Romance and suspense ignite a modern Paris backdrop in director Jonathan Demme’s fresh take on the Stanley Donen film Charade (also included on this disc). Regina (Thandie Newton) meets Joshua (Mark Wahlberg) while on vacation, as she’s contemplating ending her marriage to Charlie (Stephen Dillane). But upon her return to Paris, she finds that both her apartment and her bank account have been emptied — and her husband has been murdered.

O.K. I am writing my thesis right now, I am way to busy for a vacation because I'll be moving to Paris (where don't have an apartment yet.) Still, I keep on thinking about a short trip to L.A. which rationally does not make sense. Not only because I'm busy but also because it's expensive. But I want to visit UCLA - to see whether I would like to try to get into the PHD-Programm, I have a friend living in San Diego who I haven't seen for a long time and last but not least I would just like to see Beverly Hills and Hollywood. And no, I'm not over my Jeff Goldblum crush yet.
This is what I say, if you have a will, you have a way. Do what your heart desires or you may very possibly regret it later on.

in a neighborhood of shops, close to Orly, metro, safe, Jan 13 thru Jan 18, under 100 euro, prefer apartment, vacation condo or private home
Didnt stay at that metro but great and cheap lodging is available in the montmare -
I loved roma sacre cour. Right above a deep metro stop. metro has an elevator for luggage (Stop name was Lamarck-Caulaincourt) easy access to the city small bakery on the corner, also small grocery and florist type shops nearby. Smallish rooms but you arent there for the room and we paid under $100 a day maybe$75 a day.
Hotel square d'anvers was ok but cramped, near the foot of the hill with sacre cour
and another one near Place de cliche was quite fine I think it had a fridge, a bit of a walk from the metro though (i'll add the name if i remember soon - yes Prima Lepic on Rue Lepic) - none had a kitchen but bread, juice and cheese keep fine on the ledge of the window where it is cool.

At the age of twenty-eight, stuck in a dead-end job in London, and on the run from a broken heart, Bryce Corbett takes a job in Paris, home of l’amour and la vie boheme; he is determined to make the city his own—no matter how many bottles of Bordeaux it takes. He rents an apartment in Le Marais, the heart of the city’s gay district, hardly the ideal place for a guy hoping to woo French women. He quickly settles into the French work/life balance with its mandatory lunch hour and six weeks of paid vacation. Fully embracing his newfound culture, Corbett frequents smoky cafes, appears on a television game show, hobnobs with celebrities at Cannes, and attempts to parse the nuances behind French politics and why French women really don’t get fat. When he falls in love with a Parisian showgirl, he realizes that his adopted city has become home.

Has anyone gone for month or 6. What are the chances to rent a small apartment in a nicer part of town and be able to go out daily, visit museums and such. I hate supervised tours and 1 week is not enough for the Louvre let alone all the other sights I want to take in.
I often go to Paris for a month at a time but have never stayed as long as six months.
There are apartments available for short term rentals and for a stay of a month or more are a very sensible alternative to a hotel.
Here are some websites you can start looking at:
