I was curious as to whether or not someone could kind of make up a simple itinerary for my families Vacation to Europe. Not really a whole trip just kind of like the places we should visit sites to see while in those places, an idea of how long to stay in each place, and maybe some hotel suggestions. Anyway we would like to visit Europe during the month of june or july of this year. We plan on spending a couple weeks maybe 3 in Europe visiting the different cities and sites of Europe. A few ideas of places we would like to visit include: Paris, Rome, Milan, Venice, London, maybe even Barcelona or Munich. Are these good places? Also there are 4 people who will be going and I will be 15 when we go, my brother 12, and my dad is not exactly a museum/ artsy person so limited art stuff. I know it's rather sad, but I believe me and mom would be the only ones to enjoy it. The other two would probably rather be riding a filthy roller coaster at Six-flags. So anyhow if you also have hotel and restaurant suggestions or really any helpful information that would be awesome!

A sample you could do is you could always fly into St. Petersburg and spend about 4 days there. You could stay at the Hotel Rossiya which is very nice and you could just walk the entire city. You could also take a canal tour which will show you parts of the city on the boat and it would almost be like a roller coaster ride. You could then go to the Hermitage and see the amazing pieces of art there, plus go to Peterhof which is a little bit outside of the city and you could see an amazing palace. After you are done in St. Petersburg, you could travel by train to Petrozavodsk. There you can spend a few days while staying at the Hotel Karelia. You could travel to Kizhi Island and see the amazing churches and houses there. Plus, the city is home to some incredible museums. After being there, you could travel north to the city of Kem and then go to the Solovetski Islands where Aleksandr Solzhanitsen wrote about the Gulag Archipelago. Then you could continue traveling north to Murmansk and visiting the city, plus also goign to the nerby submarine base. After going there, you could take a bus to Kirkenes, Norway and then take a cruise down to Oslo which would allow you to see many of the famous fjords of Norway. Then from Oslo, after spending a few days there, you could travel back to the US.

Going to Europe in 2 weeks. Flying into London and out of Paris and will be there 16 days/nights. We are considering 5 days in London and 11 in Paris and the rest of France. Is there enough to see in Paris and the rest of France to fill 11 days? Is 5 days enough or too much in London?

We would like to enjoy our vacation at a leisurely pace and really soak in the atmosphere of the places we visit and not rush through everything. What do you think of this itinerary? What would you do differently? What else should we see in England and France? Should we consider visiting another city or country?

We have never been to Europe, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve only been to London, and the only advice I can give you is to be prepared for spending A LOT of money. It’s an *expensive* city. Not too sure about Paris.

Well, inspired by other baby name gamers, I decided to create a game. Hope you'll like it, star it if you do =). Have fun!

You're 18 and you are on a vacation is Paris on your own, after breaking up with your long term high-school boyfriend.You've never seen such a wonderful city, the friendly people and the delicious food make up for the loss. Once walking on the famous avenue of Champs-Élysées, in front of the Louis Vuitton store, someone grabs your bag and run away. You almost faint, you have everything in that bag, you scream for help. Suddenly you see a handsome, blond guy running after and catching the robber. He gives your bag back with an embarrassed but glorious smile. Tristan is 22, has shoulder-length blond hair, sparkling dark blue eyes, and a cute French accent. You soon fall in love, date and 3 months later he pops the question. You say yes (obviously =) but decide to move together to London.

After the wedding you have always dreamed of you get pregnant, and 9 months later you give birth to the most beautiful baby girl in the world. She takes after her father, blond hair and dark blue eyes. But she has your personality. You decide to honor the day you and your husband met (something connected to Paris, France, or the Louis Vuitton shop =), and you chose a very girly middle name.

Your 3 year old girl looks like a princess, she's the most lovable precious gift in the world. Once watching TV with her, the programme is about the Jolie-Pitts with their 4 children (then). Your little princess fells in love with the rainbow family, so you decide to adopt a girl from Africa and a boy from Asia. Tristan agrees, and in 5 years, you're proud to be the parents of an 8 years old girl, a 5 years old girl and a 1 year old boy. You named your 2nd daughter after your favourite book character and you gave her a water-related middle name. You kept your boy's Asian middle name, and you picked an uncommon 1st name (not weird!)

Moving back to Tristan's beloved Paris, you realize you're pregant with twins, they're identical boys. Tristan would love to chose the 1st names, and you let him. He picks Vincent and Léon, honoring his relatives. You become a fun of nature names, so for the middle names you want something connected to earth, air, water or plants. Your new bundles of joy have red hair and emerald green eyes.

3 years later, when you're 30, you come into a lot of money when your distant relative dies. You buy a large house 40 minutes from Paris. You've always wanted a large (an even larger =)) family so you adopt a baby girl from India. She's the calmest baby, and you chose Serena as a middle name.

2 years later you're pregnant again, name your little boy, who has curly brown hair and hazel eyes, after your favourite movie actor. As a middle name, you create a masculin form of your name.

I would suggest you travel to Moscow and you could stay at the Hotel Domodedovo, which is close to the international airport. You can take the train into the city and visit the Kremlin, Lenin's Tomb, go to GUM department store, visit Tretyakoski Galleries, visit the first McDonald's in the Soviet Union near Pushinskaya Metro Station and also go to VNDKh station which has many incredible sites. You probably want to stay there for about 5 days to really get a feel for it. Then you can travel to Novosibirsk, which is the capital of Siberia. You can stay at the Hotel Ob or the Hotel Sibir or Hotel Novosibirsk which are located near the city center. There are museums you ca visit, plus the city park and near the Akademgorodok, you can see the Siberian Train Museum. Plus, you can see a ballet or opera at one of the largest domed theaters in the world. You will probably want to spend 3 days there and then on your way back home, you can stop in London and visit it for a few days.

My family is choosing a summer vacation. I have been to both London and Paris before, when I was much younger, and so has my father, but my two other family members have never been out of the country.
We are ages 45, 45, 18, and a precocious 12.
We like history, a unique culture/flavor to the area, beautiful architecture, good food, and interesting things to see.

Which destination do you suggest for an entertaining, relaxing one-week trip?

1. Amsterdam, Brussels, Bruges, Antwerp, etc
2. London and Paris
3. London, Cornwall, the New Forest, etc in Southern England

I can agree with bigmomma in most she says.
For practical reasons, London and Southern England will give you a good choice. Stay in London for a few days, take the train out of the town and pick up a rental car, and drive from a midsize town.
You can train it all in England too, I have done often and you can reach almost every famous sight. But having a car for four is not that much more expensive and would give you much more freedom to combine places.

The Netherlands and Belgium is also a nice area, (there my opinion is different) but you need to combine towns/cities with nature and villages to enjoy it to its fullest extend. You can even base yourself in one or two towns and do your traveling as daytours from there. Amsterdam-Brussels is about 3 hours trainjourney or drive when there are no traffic jams.

I would advice against just London and Paris, as you miss much that makes the countries.
If you have more than 3 weeks you can combine London, south east England, north west France and Paris, but do not do it in less time, waste of the travel, (as I see it.) And in rural France and England you will find much more history than in both capital cities.

Food in Belgium and France is great, but you will find much to like in England and the Netherlands too, specially if you are not shy in trying out different things.

If you travel in summer by public transport you will need reservations, if you travel by car is it a good idea to have reservations, as the summer is when all Europeans take their summer holidays too.
