Where in Europe should I live?

Posted by admin on September 23rd, 2008 and filed under vacation apartments in paris |

This is for fun, so please don't think I'm going to live somewhere I've never even visited before. But I am looking for some ideas (for vacation or living).

I am an American, but I want to live in Europe. I work in computer networking, and would like to keep a job in it wherever I go. I don't want to live in a huge city like London, Paris, Milan, etc, but someplace that's only a half a million people or so would be fun. I'd also like a place that's not insanely expensive, as I'd like to be able to buy my own apartment, home, or loft (whatever there may be).

I don't like weather below freezing, and I don't like weather above 35 or so. I won't have any friends when I get there, so a place where people are open and friendly to outsiders would be great.

Finally, I want to go where the women are beautiful (like you English and Irish ladies :-) ) and where the men are ugly (so I can stand a chance with the women… ha ha ha)!!

Any fun or serious suggestions are welcome. Thank you!!

Sophia-Antipolis, France = south of France, lots of tech employers, warm weather, Brigitte Bardot girls on the beaches…

You could go to Nice on the French Riviera (Cote D'Azure). It's wonderful there and not far from IBM in La Gaude.

Small city, lots of IT work, not crazy expensive real estate, friendly people, not too hot/cold, groovy, good looking women vs ugly men, there is only one option, Amsterdam. On top of all that everyone speaks english and weed is legal. Why would you go anywhere else? Oh yeah, the food sucks and it rains a lot, but don't let that put you off.

Coming in at second place would be Edinburgh.

Why dont you try Prague, or other Checz city, Croatia is prety cheap and people are friendly, also I like Greece. Basically if you looking for good cheap community look on Eastern Europe, around Adriatic sea, or maybe a litle more north like Austria. You would not like Russia, it is to cold, plus people like to fight a lot
